Literary Cafe: The DRLSO falls under the hypnotic spell of "Un Avenir Strangulé "!

It is the new author that caught the attention of participants at the Literary Cafe, held on 19 June 2024 in the conference room of the Regional Directorate for the Littoral and South-West.

It is 4 p.m. as the participants’ flock to the 4th edition of a cultural knowledge bonanza, the first of its kind in the region. The star is Diane-Annie Tjomb, author and writer, who plunges a bibliophile gathering of cultural players, educators and teachers into the heart of her artistic psyche. On the menu, three selected pieces: "LIAA, Rencontre avec l'étrange", "Tuba, celle qui possède la Force", and "Matila O Duala 2021", with the short story "Un Avenir Strangulé".

The 4th edition of the Literary Cafe opened on a note of citizenship, with a faithful rendition of the National Anthem of Cameroon. This was followed by a word of welcome from Regional Director Jean Paul Biboum. He reminded all the participants of the aspirations of the Director General, Noël Alain Olivier MEKULU MVONDO AKAME, with the promotion of culture, which occupies a special place in the puzzle of his managerial vision. The moderator of the event, Rey Ndébi, gave a thorough tour of the written works before an audience of 87 attentive and knowledge-hungry people, after the presentation of the reading note by literary critic Pauline Ongono. This set the scene for a long session of cultural sharing.

Two hours were enough to satisfy the curiosity of the bibliophiles. Some of them showed their solidarity with the literary arts by buying around thirty books, autographed by their author, Diane Annie Tjomb. While thanking the host and the public for their attendance, the organiser encouraged the staff of the Social Insurance Centre Makepe for their involvement, while recommending that the other Centres under his management should implement "reading clubs", which are already up and running at the Social Insurance Centre Makepe. It will ensure the ongoing cultural development of the DRLSO employees. The Regional Director makes this a point of honour. Before the photography session closing the event, the guests were made aware of the voluntary insurance with immediate registration.

This was the last in a long series of Literary Cafe, with everyone happy to have attended and looking forward to coming back.
