The Director General of the NSIF hereby informs the national audience that on the night of Saturday the 6th of September, at around 10 p.m., a fire broke out on the slab of the NSIF building of the Social Insurance Centres Akwa and Bonanjo in Douala.
Thanks to the rapid, energetic and effective intervention of the city's fire brigade, and under the benevolent on-site supervision of the Governor of the Littoral Region, Mr Samuel Diboua, assisted by the NSIF technical officials, the fire was quickly neutralised, without any particular damage.
According to the initial investigation, the fire started in the overheated cables of the MTN antenna's electrical container installed on the building's slab.
At the time of writing, everything returned to normal, with no casualties or other material damage to report.
The Director General would like to express the NSIF's gratitude to the authorities involved and warmly congratulate our valiant firefighters.
The Director General would also like to thank all Cameroonians who spontaneously showed their solidarity and empathy during and after the incident, thereby demonstrating their sympathy to the NSIF and national institutions.

The release relating to the implementation of the Social Compliance Certificate (ACS) signed on the 28th of August 2025 clearly states that this new document replaces the Clearance Certificate (APS).
Details.
Out with the APS, in with the ACS! Release No. 39/DG/CSP/DAJC/DECT of the 28th of August 2025, signed by the Director General, Mr Noël Alain Olivier MEKULU MVONDO AKAME, sets out this major administrative change in the relationship between the NSIF and employers of domestic and professional workers. This new document is backed up by the 2024 Finance Law.
Similarities
Like the APS, the new document confirms that employers subject to the social security scheme are in compliance with their legal obligations. The ACS also costs CFA francs 3,000 and can be downloaded online in the employer’s online declaration space, available in the ‘ONLINE SERVICES’ section of the www.cnps.cm website. The said document will be required as a condition of admissibility in bidding for public contracts.
Validity
The ACS is valid from the date of issuance of the document to the 15th of the month. In other words, since the deadline for payment of monthly contributions is the 15th of the month, if you pay the ACS on the 16th, it will be valid until the 15th of the following month. Similarly, if the ACS is issued on the 14th, it will only be valid until the following day, the 15th. You can check its authenticity using a QR CODE embedded in the document.
Special features
The ACS has a broader scope. It will also be required for request of formal approvals or renewals by competent public administration’s, as well as for the Tax Compliance Certificate (ACF) by the fiscal administration. The ACS will also be required in passports and visa applications, as well as at border posts, for all employers of national or foreign professional and domestic workers, who intend to travel, even temporarily, out of the national territory. Passports may even be refused or withdrawn from employers who are not in good standing with the NSIF.
Constraints
Employers are encouraged to regularly update their information, such as the mandatory Unique Tax Identification Number (NIU).
By adopting this new digital certificate, which can be downloaded directly from the employer’s account on the www.cnps.cm website, without the need to submit a physical file, the Cameroon’s NSIF is fine-tuning this simplified approach to benefit all economic stakeholders, while promoting administrative fluidity and mutual trust.
On Friday, the 29th of August 2025, the Cameroon's female staff of the National Social Insurance Fund attended a seminar related to women's rights in Yaounde.
With the same energy and aim, the NSIF female workers, alongside other women from both public and private sectors (administrations and associations) gathered in the conference room of the Ministry Building No. 2 to debate on the theme: ‘Femme et droit foncier au Cameroun: une femme, un titre foncier’, a discussion organised by the Ministry of Domains, Cadastre and Land Affairs (MINDCAF).
This second stage involving land rights is in line with the national campaign entitled ‘52 semaines: femmes et performances.’ At the centre of the debate was the innovative project ‘1 femme, 1 titre foncier, 1 logement intelligent’ programme, that aims at facilitating digital land access for Cameroonian women. The goal of this initiative is to promote asset security, open up financing opportunities for home ownership, and strengthen women's economic empowerment.
Representatives from the NSIF contributed to the talk by sharing their experiences and discussed on land security, legal protection of property, and mechanisms on how to access financial support for women's real estate projects. This reflects the institution's current commitment to promote gender equality and women's well-being at work. It will help to develop a more skilled, motivated and stable female staff.
