Lydie Ze Meka: From Recovery to HR!

After a promising start as a Recovery Executive, it was as a Human Resources Manager that she left her indelible mark in the company.

A quick look in the rear-view mirror shows that Mrs ZE MEKA née Lydie EYAMO, was recruited at the NSIF on the 21st of April 1987, with the registration number 3217, as an executive in the Recovery Department (created on the 21st of December 1981, Ed.). She quickly made a name for herself with her dynamic approach and became controller of social contributions and benefits, with the rank of Deputy Chief of Service of the Inspection and Control Brigade in Yaounde, from the 29th of July 1988 to the 28th of July 1994. With more experience in the field of the recovery of social contributions, she was appointed Inspector with the rank of Chief of Service, at the Inspectorate General in Yaounde, until the 28th of September 2000.

Lydie Ze Meka: From Recovery to HR!

Mrs Lydie ZE MEKA

With her wide range of skills, top management felt that the 2000s were the right time for her to change fields. She was appointed Deputy Director (29 September 2000 to 29 February 2005), Acting Director (01 March 2005 to 14 July 2005) and finally Director of Human Resources (15 July 2005 to 11 April 2015). Her fifteen years in career and skills management enabled her to be at the heart of several reforms. These include the first convention to have staff medical expenses covered by an insurer in 2001, the CNPS-GOODWILL Cameroon convention to purchase vehicles for disabled staff, the implementation of the inter-directorate football tournament, followed by the Olympics (from 2011), and the signing of employment contracts for staff from 2009, the setting up of health and safety committees in March 2012, the removal of the NSIF from the collective agreement for banks and financial establishments in April 2012, followed by the negotiation of an establishment agreement and the implementation of a collective agreement specific to the social security sector. The list goes on…

Based on the above, it is clear that Mrs Ze Meka's courageous and ingenious proposals have enabled the NSIF to stabilise its Human Resources Management and to make a fresh start on the road to success.
