

The NSIF Director General in release No. 37 of the 21st of August 2025, announced the payment of a special allowance to social insured persons, following the upcoming 2025-2026 academic year. Details.
For a better understanding, here is an explanation of the release, which reveals an unprecedented initiative in Cameroon’s history.
Goal
The aim is to provide a special allowance to families to help them to support the cost of sending their children to school, which should contribute to improving access to education.
The amount
The amount of CFA francs 54,000 will be paid per child, equivalent to one year’s worth of family allowances (CFA francs 4,500 x 12 months). Moreover, normal family allowances will continue to be paid every month.
Beneficiaries
The 2025 back to school special allowance is exclusively for the NSIF insured persons (workers and pensioners) who meet the conditions for receiving family allowances and whose employers are up to date with their social contributions.
Deadlines
Insured persons must submit school attendance and apprenticeship certificates for the 2025-2026 academic year, latest the 31st of October 2025, either online via Sapelli Aïna App, or to their Social Insurance Centres of management.

To this last question, the answer comes from the Director General of the NSIF: " Accordingly, the beneficiaries will be paid on the 5th of October 2025; through the usual channels. This initiative is in line with the social policy of the President of the Republic, H.E. Mr Paul BIYA, to encourage youth development. Also, I want to take this opportunity to salute the reforms made in the social security sector, during recent years, that aims at constantly and regularly improve the living conditions of the populations. "
Beyond the novelty represented by this special allowance, it is more than ever a very timely opportunity for many Cameroonian families! But, be careful! The right must be paid to the right beneficiary. It is the reason why the NSIF strengthened its strategy of control and authentication of periodic maintenance of rights documents, which will be submitted.
