Thérèse Mbassi Alegue! From Executive Secretary of 3 Directors General to Director!
Recapping the career of a loyal worker who served the NSIF with commitment and professionalism.
Thérèse was recruited at the NSIF in 1981 and posted to the Private Secretariat of the then Director General, Joseph Zambo, as a Secretary, Shorthand Typist and Accounting Assistant.
A hard-working, tall, slim woman with a fair complexion, she exudes natural charisma and commands respect. So it was only natural that her strong sense of duty led her to a special promotion, only six years after her recruitment, to the prestigious and delicate position of Executive Secretary of DG Pierre Désiré Engo (Director General of the NSIF from 1983 to 1999, Ed.). The rest speaks for itself. From 1987 to 2013, Nnama Thérèse, now Mrs MBASSI ALEGUE, spent 26 years in this position, working with four Directors General. This is the kind of record that is not easy to beat.
With the managerial vision of Noël Alain Olivier Mekulu Mvondo Akame, the Director General, advocating merit and equal opportunities for access to positions of responsibility, her professional career took a different trajectory as soon as he arrived in 2008. In 2013, she was appointed chargée de mission. Then, with the reorganisation of the Institution's organisational chart, she became the very first Regional Director for the Centre, South and East (DRCSE). She will be remembered for her impressive leadership during the Institution’s fiftieth anniversary Olympics, held in January 2018, which saw the DRCSE sweep the medal table, and for the smooth running of its administrative management structure.

After a long and exceptional career spanning 37 years, she retired on the 28th of March 2018. She leaves behind an indelible memory of a selfless worker, one of duty and trust.
