ENAM: BLESSINGS FROM THE DIRECTOR GENERAL
As a patron, he was the guest of honour at the ceremony to pass on the baton from the students in the Labour Administration Section, class “Quarantenaire” 2022-2024, to their academic cadets.
Mr Noël Alain Olivier Mekulu Mvondo Akame arrived at the National School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM) on the evening of Tuesday, the 28th of January 2025, looking relaxed and nostalgic, obviously reminiscing about his two-year training period in the Institution as a student in the Treasury Section of the Financial Division from 1983 to 1985.
He was the guest of honour of the students in the Labour Administration section who, having reached the end of their training, were keen to take as their patron the man they now consider to be: “the personality whose values of integrity, responsibility, ethics and respect no longer need to be overemphasised”, confesses Idrissou Mamoudou, President of the outgoing students' association.
The national anthem set the tone for the ceremony in ENAM's “petit amphithéâtre.” Immediately after, the NSIF Top Manager was briefed by his ENAM counterpart on the symbolic significance of such an event in his institution's tradition.
According to Pierre Bertrand Soumbou Angoula, this is a tradition whereby the students of a given year choose among senior state officials, a person who, in terms of competence, experience and leadership, represents a role model for them.
Following in his predecessor's footsteps, the NSIF Director General began by sharing his immense pride in returning to ENAM not only as an academic senior but also as the patron of a brilliant graduating class. He went on to express his gratitude to the “quarantenaire”, batch for choosing him, a choice that he saw as a sign of intergenerational solidarity, in the same way, that inactive workers' pensions are financed by their active cadets in the social security scheme for which he is in charge.
At the same time, Noël Alain Olivier Mekulu Mvondo Akame gave his views on the quality of the profiles listed in this year's class, a potential that attests to the fact that the Cameroonian youth continues, with a dynamism that is well-known and appreciated by all, to pursue the path of the Republic.
He did not hesitate to discuss extensively with his cadets some of the essential management values and principles which, according to him, have enabled the National Social Insurance Fund to build the reputation it now enjoys in Cameroon and internationally.
The solemn presentation of diplomas and the ceremonial passing of the baton to the cadets of the “Performance and Progress” class still in training brought the colourful evening to a close, with a sharing of good managerial practices drawn from the NSIF reference framework.
