SOCIAL SECURITY: EXCHANGE OF GOOD PRACTICES IN YAOUNDE
A team from Gabon's Caisse Nationale de Sécurité Sociale visited the capital of Cameroon from the 17th to the 19th of March 2025.
Within the framework of regional cooperation in the field of social security, the NSIF of Cameroon welcomed its Gabonese counterpart to its premises for a three-day benchmarking session, the aim of which was to know more about the digitalisation of NSIF services.
This technical mission began with an audience granted by the Technical Adviser in charge of Technical Issues, Masango Denis Mebune, on behalf of the Director General, on Monday, the 17th of March at 10 a.m., with a discussion on the various objectives to be achieved. Staff from two of the Institution's strategic departments - the Technical Department and the Department of Information Systems - were then mobilised to meet specific needs.
With the aim of gaining an overview of the management of activities in the electronic field, the meeting with the services of the Technical Department involved, among other things, a presentation of the daily activities of the staff, based on the objectives assigned, while emphasising the quality of the service offered; also, a presentation of the technological progress linked to the processing of files; the specific features of the information systems as regards the payment of social benefits.
With the officials of the Department of Information Systems, the aim was to present the problems and solutions envisaged in the Social Security System in Cameroon, as well as the business application and its satellites, and finally, a visit to the DATA CENTER in Yaounde.
This working visit came at the right time, as the Cameroonian Institution has completed the testing phase of its most recent innovations in terms of quality of service, such as the online submission of applications for benefits, as well as the digital and facial identification of beneficiaries in the Sapelli Aïna application. The CNSS delegation, led by Gérard Didier Junior Messani, accompanied by the Heads of the Recovery and Family Benefits Divisions, was able to benefit from precise and concrete explanations of these tools for social security governance during the friendly yet constructive discussions with the specialists.
These exchanges of good practices enabled the visitors to get a close-up view of how the NSIFs current integrated system works, and to talk to various technical teams about the problems encountered and the solutions applied during its integration.
On the third and final day of the working mission, a debriefing session was held in the conference room on the 10th floor of the NSIF Head Office, chaired by Technical Adviser Masango Denis Mebune.
It was an opportunity for the Gabonese delegation to express their satisfaction at the sharing of experience and good practices on the implementation of social security, and to express their “heartfelt gratitude to the Director General”, for always “opening the doors of his company to them, to learn from his managerial policy”.
