Occupational risk prevention
The central theme of this year's 28th edition of the JAPRP is "Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) in high-risk Sectors: challenges and intervention strategies".
Accident-prone sectors include public works, agroforestry, and transport. In the latter sector, statistics show that 35% of road accidents are caused by speeding, 17% by the condition of the vehicle, 10.5% by drunkenness, 10.5% by lack of control of the steering wheel, 10% by the condition of the road, 7% by poor overtaking, and 10% by other causes. It is understood that these accidents can be avoided if the instructions contained in this driver's guide for transport vehicles are taken into account.
