Technical Cooperation: the NSIF Shares Its Experience

A team from Burkina Faso's Caisse Nationale de Sécurité Sociale (CNSS) paid a working visit to the NSIF Directorate General from the 6th to the 9th of November 2023.

 The Conference Room of the Head Office was the venue for the first working session, held on Monday the 6th of November 2023.  The team from Ouagadougou was led by Dilomama Kone, Director of Human Resources. The aim of the visit was to tap into the NSIF's e-learning expertise.

The working session began with a word of welcome from the Technical Adviser in charge of Governance, representing the Director General of the NSIF. In return, the Head of the Burkinabe delegation replied: “Presently, our institution has a vocational training centre that provides face-to-face training for staff. Recognising that, in the age of NICTs, this approach handicaps us in several ways, we'd like to turn to other forms of training, notably e-learning, and we know that the NSIF in Cameroon is ahead of the game in this domain. So we have come to learn from your best practices in terms of staff skills development”.

The Burkinabe delegation was made up of a team of three officials in search of E-learning training. These expectations were met with the intervention of two structures. The Directorate of Human Resources, which uses e-learning thanks to the implementation of online training materials by the Directorate of Information Systems. 

Assisted by their close collaborators, the Heads of the two structures briefed the CNSS Burkina Faso team on the mechanisms for sustaining and strengthening staff capacities through online training and the involvement of the DSI in the implementation of training materials. “We base ourselves on our mission statement to carry out a performance evaluation at the end of the year. This evaluation enables us to identify training needs in required areas. This means that the structure head can request training for his or her staff if the need arises.  The Directorate of Human Resources can also make a general assessment of staff training needs, with the aim of capacity building. And finally, the Director General can authoritatively request staff training in specific areas.  From there, we schedule online training courses with the help of the DSI and the developers of our online training tools” says HR Director Nana Bello.

 The working visit of the Caisse Nationale de Sécurité Sociale team from Burkina Faso ended on the 9th of November 2023 in Cameroon's capital city.
