ISSA Webinar: The NSIF Shares Its Experience
The National Social Insurance Fund of Cameroon participated on Wednesday 20th July 2022 in the videoconference discussions organised by the International Social Security Association.
The meeting room on the 6th floor was the venue for a virtual meeting with two presentations. The presentation of the Technical Director of the NSIF, Souaibou Bagoura, on the theme: “Means of Collecting Contributions and Paying Social Benefits: The Case of the NSIF of Cameroon”. And the Director of Information Systems of the Social Insurance Bank of Uruguay (BPS) on the theme: “System of Collection and Payment of Social Contributions” moderated by Ernesto Brodesohn, Senior Social Security Officer of the ISSA.
For more than 20 minutes, the Technical Director of the NSIF, assisted by the Deputy Director of Information Systems and the Head of the Studies, Communication and Translation Department, explained the process of digitalisation of services. This has facilitated the collection of contributions and the payment of social benefits. According to the Technical Director, the NSIF has embarked on a vast project to modernise its entire information system and the services offered to clients. In this process, it has faced several challenges to which appropriate solutions have been found. A procedure that has undergone successive adjustments.
He concluded by saying that “the securing of funds to limit fraud and errors has led to the establishment of partnerships with certain private institutions for the collection of contributions and the payment of social benefits. This has led to a significant improvement in the relationship between the NSIF and its clients”.
The Director of Information Systems of the Social Insurance Bank in Uruguay focused his presentation on the current mechanisms for the collection of contributions and payment of benefits, the involvement of public services and certain partners, the control mechanisms and the prospects for improving the existing situation.
At the end of these two presentations, the Technical Director of the NSIF provided clarifications to the concerns raised by participants of the webinar.
The NSIF thus continues its constant quest to improve the living conditions of insured persons and pensioners for whom it has the historic mission.
