The Director General of the National Social Insurance Fund (NSIF) participated with some of his collaborators, in the 27th edition of the Mount Cameroon Race on Saturday 19 February 2022.
The event took place in Buea and the NSIF honoured its annual participation as usual. The Director General was competing with about 35 athletes in the "Veterans" category.
2nd in his category, the Director General got his ticket as a special guest at the next World Athletics Championship for veterans and he expressed his joy: "The Mount Cameroon Race is a classic and therefore an annual event in which we must participate. Especially the NSIF because we support the initiative, we support the Race of Hope that brings as its name indicates, a lot of hope to Cameroonians" said Noël Alain Olivier MEKULU MVONDO AKAME.
He added: "we have to remain optimistic in difficult times like those we are experiencing in these places. Of course, I participate because this race is a significant, hard and physical effort, but it also allows you to push your limits and to open your mind. It is a physical test, but an opportunity to get mentally and psychologically liberated. So it is a happiness that is offered to us through this race, even though it is extremely difficult, especially for us".
As a reminder, the race was created 49 years ago and over time it adapted to new realities to become "The Race of Hope". So, good luck to the Top Manager for his participation in the next World Veterans Athletics Championship.
