Payment of pensions The 20% increase is effective

Since last August 24, pensioners of the National Social Insurance Fund (NSIF) receive their pensions with the 20% increase as announced by the Top Management of the NSIF on the esteemed instructions of the President of the Republic.

I have just left the bank and I was indeed able to take my pension with a 20% increase. It is wonderful news for us pensioners because we had to wait till the 5th of the following month. More to that, our pensions have been increased,” said Papa Moise BAMA.

Similarly to him, thousands of other pensioners of the National Social Insurance Fund have been receiving their pensions at their respective banks since Monday 24, August 2020. Their satisfaction was perceptible among these elderly people. A relief, which they know they owe to the Director General of the CNPS. "It was a pleasure for me to see my pension increased by 20% at the bank today and to be sure that I’ll henceforth receive my pension on the 24th of each month. I take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to the President of the Republic Paul BIYA and the Director General of the NSIF who are doing their utmost to improve the living conditions of Cameroonians," stated Papa NGASSIFO enthusiastically.

The same is true in Douala, the economic capital. "I noticed that the 20% increase we were talking about on TV is effective on my pension. We are pleasantly surprised because we were not sure that this promise of the Head of State would be effective any time soon. Today we can only be happy. To the Top Management of the NSIF, I extend my sincere congratulations for the good work and this must continue," declared Papa ABEGA.

It is worth mentioning that the 20% increase in pensions only concerns former pensioners who did not benefit from the increase of the 2016 Decree.
