The 2024 NSIF Olympics: Intense Preparations at the DRLSO!

In the build-up to the 4th edition of the NSIF Games, the Regional Directorate for the Littoral and South-West (DRLSO) is optimising the preparation of its athletes and clearly stating its ambition: to win gold medals in all disciplines.

An overview of the football team

The NSIF athletes will be making history in Yaounde from the 15th to the 18th of August 2024. Coming from the four corners of the country, they will be competing in seven (07) sports disciplines, in a friendly atmosphere, under the Olympic motto: “Faster, Higher, Stronger, Together” and with the participation of the Social Security Institution’s top sportsman, the Director General, Noël Alain Olivier Mekulu Mvondo Akame.

The Organising Committee is ready. There is a general state of preparedness in the different regions. Some preparations are audible while others are not. For proper mobilisation, the DRLSO created a special regional WhatsApp group after a practice session at the College St Michel stadium in Douala christened “Olympiades 2024”. The aim was to prepare for the games. Everything is in place and tested, from the play styles to the songs from members of the fan club. Follow-up guidelines are constantly given in the group to foster preparations even on an individual basis.

Total Communion

Coaching was also provided on psychological preparation, under the leadership of DRLSO Jean Paul Biboum. In the WhatsApp group, the athletes are sharing moments of their preparation, to “perform well” in all the disciplines. Activities coordinator Prosper Ngambaï was keen to point out that the aim is to “transform the region’s impressive pool of talent into a winning team, with respect and fair play” adding that “the date of the next training session will be known soon

Basketball

A moment of sharing par excellence, all the sportsmen and women and supporters of the NSIF and their guests will, throughout a weekend, vibrate in unison during this sporting and now cultural festival, whose reputation is, according to sports analysts, on a par with certain international championships.

Let the best team win!
