The NSIF Athletic Club Performs Well
The young athletes of the Social Security Institution were present at the second edition of the YASSAH POUSSINADES on the 24th of August 2022 which took place at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Sports Stadium in Yaounde.
Léna Mossy Kouoh, Ashley Moubitang Guiegou, Michelle Ange Hendji, Marie Mboue Koungou, Francesca Mawa Djomegne and Ariel Essamba Fegue aged 8, 10, 11, 12 and 13 respectively, bravely represented the Institution in this competition.
They came first and second in their categories, namely 50m and 100m for girls, and 2000m for boys. “I am very proud of my performance because I competed in the 50m race and I came first” said a happy Michelle Ange Hendji.
These performances are the result of a quality mentorship under the guidance of the president of the NSIF athletic club, Nathalie Atangana. The “poussinades” are athletic competitions organised by the Cameroon Athletics Federation for the identification of future talents. At the end of this event, the NSIF came second in the regional ranking with two gold medals, three silver medals and a bronze medal. A source of pride for the Social Security Institution. We are aspiring for even more awards and medals in next year’s event.
