The Director General of the National Social Insurance Fund (NSIF)
informs employers and all other persons who owe money to the institution that Decree No.2020/347 of 17 June 2021 laying down the conditions for the issue of passports contains several provisions, notably Articles 7, 8, 9 and 26, which contain public order measures against passport applicants who owe money to the Public Treasury.
Thus, the passport may be " denied " or " withdrawn " from them, under the conditions provided for in the said decree, when they are debtors of social and other contributions, since the NSIF claims benefiting from the Treasury's privilege.
The Director General therefore invites all employers and persons to settle their debts as soon as possible or to request an adjustment of the payment terms relating to them, in order to avoid the inconvenience that could be incurred by the strict implementation of the new measures for refusing to issue or withdrawing their passport.
